Homework
The government recommends that children in years 1-3 should be set about 1 hour of homework a week. In year 1 this is most likely to involve practising their reading with an adult and perhaps a few spellings. Some schools may give a little simple maths.
Tests There are no national tests at the end of year 1.

Remember
|
| |
It is natural for children to reach developmental and educational milestones at different times. If your child is struggling, talk to his teacher, health visitor or GP. Otherwise, give him time and encouragement and don't worry!
