Additional informationAdditional information:
Megahops: Spydrax has a set of cards numbered 1 to 9. In the first level of the game, Spydrax turns over one card and asks the children to guess whether the next card will be higher or lower. If correct, the player wins a megahop. It is important to move children on from pure guesswork towards using probability to help them make informed choices. Children will benefit from playing this activity with a parent or friend, rather than individually at first, to give them the opportunity to discuss and explain their thinking, before making their decision. Encourage children to see how few turns they can take to win their five megahops.
Location in Spark Island: Sparkley Square: Gang's House

Suitable for children with Moderate and Specific Learning Difficulties. Having the completed 0-10 number line in front of them as a reference point would be useful for children. Level 3 is the most difficult and only suitable for children who have been very secure during levels 1 and 2. Text is read for children, which should ensure the activity can be undertaken by children who are not confident readers or who have difficulties with reading, thereby giving all children the opportunity to succeed at the activity and also gain a sense of independence.
